DIY - Projector Clock
Want to build a projector clock (aka - ceiling clock)?
This post will provide a step-by-step guild for a easy to build projector clock.
All the item use can get off the shelf.
Equipment
Here are the item you need:
1) Lamp with halogen bulbs - Tested few model all work very well. I used FEMTON by IKEA.note : Halogen bulbs can get very hot after turn ON for long.
2) Clock - Must be see through LCD type.
Type i). Tested. Look good.Type ii). Tested. The end result is not very good. The is because the numbers size are too big for the magnifying glass - Maybe the results will be different if I have a better zooming power magnifying glass. Also must remove the cover before use. Picture below show the cover being removed.
Type iii). Achieve best result with this type of LCD clock. But forget to capture the projected results....
3) Magnifying Glass - The higher zoom power the better. I use normal 10x zoom.
Assembly
Now arrange the equipment as follow:note : Don't place the clock too close to the halogen bulb, else will heat up the LCD display and it will turn black patch.
The Results
i) With room light off.ii) With room light on.
If you running into any question please write to me. If you want to share your projector clock with others do send me some picture.

You could probably do this with super bright white LEDs which would both compact the design and eliminate heat problems.
LED's wont work, you need focused light, LED's as difuse
Decide what you are going to use your Lcd projector for, than keep in mind cost for upkeep before you choose to rent or purchase!
